David Mechlowicz is a distinguished leader in culinary media with an extensive background in both culinary arts and production. David has cultivated a notable career marked by innovation and progressive leadership in the culinary media sector.
Experience
David began his career at Restaurant Associates, overseeing corporate dining services at Morgan Stanley headquarters.
In 2002 David interned at Food Network and returned full time in 2005 as a Culinary Purchasing Manager. David oversaw all procurement for ingredients and supplies across productions and events. From making sure that Emeril’s Crawfish were fresh out the bayou, to having video calls with a fisherman in Hawaii to pick the perfect Big Eye Tuna for an Iron Chef secret ingredient 24 hours before filming, no day was ever the same. His exceptional performance led to promotions to Director of Food & Beverage, to Senior Culinary Producer, and Director of Culinary Production where he spearheaded the culinary creative across all platforms and managing the culinary production team.
Currently, as the Head of Culinary Production and Operations at Food Network, David is responsible for overseeing all aspects of culinary content, including recipe development, Food Network Magazine, and both digital and linear productions. He also manages Food Network Kitchen and all in-house events, ensuring a seamless and high-quality culinary experience across the Food Network brand.
Education
A graduate of Johnson & Wales University in 2004 with a degree in Culinary and Hospitality Management.
