Check your pantries and snack drawers. Frito-Lay is recalling a “limited number” of 13-ounce bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips due to concern that they may contain an “undeclared milk allergen.”
The recall, issued on March 26, pertains to fewer than 1,300 bags of the chips sold after March 7 in grocery, convenience and drug stores, as well as via online retailers, across 13 states. The states in which the recalled bags were sold are Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
The recalled bags may include nacho cheese tortilla chips, which could cause a serious or even deadly reaction when consumed by those with allergies or serious sensitivities to dairy. The chips are safe to consume by those who are not allergic or sensitive to milk.
So far, no allergic reactions have been reported. Only 13-ounce bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips — no other Tostitos products, flavors, sizes or variety packs — are affected by the recall.
The recalled chips are in a flexible, bright-yellow bag. The affected lot has the UPC code 28400 52848 and will have both a “Guaranteed Fresh” date of 20 MAY 2025 and one of the following Manufacturing Codes, with XX standing for any number between 30 and 55:
