You’ll soon have a brand-new menu option when you go to McDonald’s. On Monday, May 5, the fast-food chain is introducing “dippable” chicken strips nationwide. McCrispy Strips, along with the accompanying Creamy Chili Dip, is the first new permanent menu item to debut at U.S. locations since 2021. (That was the year the Crispy Chicken Sandwich first made its appearance.)
Launched in response to customer demand for more chicken options and following “countless taste tests,” the strips are made with all white meat and are “coated with crispy golden-brown breading and bursting with a bold, new black pepper flavor,” according to the brand. The Creamy Chili Dip, meanwhile, is a “savory, sweet and tangy sauce” created to provide “the full Strips experience.”

“The demand for chicken strips has been remarkable to see across the industry, so we knew we had to deliver something so craveable that it was worth the wait,” Alyssa Buetikofer, McDonald’s chief marketing and customer experience officer, said in a statement. “We took our time, listened to our fans and created a product we knew they would crave.”
The McCrispy Strips will be available in either a three-piece portion, which comes with one Creamy Chili Dip sauce cup, or a four-piece portion, which comes with two cups of the dip. Customers can also swap in a different McDonald’s sauce, such as Tangy Barbecue, Spicy Buffalo or Creamy Ranch, to suit their preference.
And note that, even though the McCrispy Strips don’t officially launch until Monday, some locations may start offering them as early as today, Thursday, April 24.
