
Bio
Steve has been a full-time recipe developer at Food Network since 2014, became Test Kitchen Manager of Food Network Magazine in 2016, and has been Test Kitchen Director since 2017. He manages a group of recipe developers to create recipes for each issue of the magazine (50-60 recipes per issue), in addition to testing recipes from Food Network talent. Day to day responsibilities include running tastings, brainstorming, writing, and editing recipes and headnotes, taking reference photos for shoots, coordinating workflow with the food editors at Hearst, in addition to delivering recipes and photos in conjunction with video shoot schedules. Before being hired full-time, Steve worked as a freelancer at Food Network on various show productions, developing recipes for the Digital, New Business and Magazine teams, and working on catered events.
Experience
Previously, Steve worked in New York City restaurants for over a decade. After attending the French Culinary Institute, he worked through the kitchen at Jean Georges Vongerichten’s Jo Jo, and the French classic Chanterelle where he ultimately was the Executive Sous Chef. Before attending culinary school Steve worked in an ad agency for two years.
Education
Steve has a Culinary Arts degree from the French Culinary Institute in New York City; Bachelor of Arts from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts.
