Taco Bell Is Bringing Back Its Fan-Favorite Crispy Chicken Nuggets
The odd-for-a-taco-place item will return on April 24.

When Taco Bell introduced its Crispy Chicken Nuggets nationwide in December 2024, people went crazy for them. So crazy, in fact, that the limited-time-only menu option sold out in less than a week. The “bold by design” nuggets — made with jalapeño-buttermilk-marinated white chicken meat and a tortilla-chip breaded coating that was the result of extensive experimentation and testing — were a major hit. Nearly five million Americans bought them, and almost one in every six Taco Bell orders included Crispy Chicken Nuggets, the brand says.
Ever since that sellout run, the nuggets’ fans (along with those who missed trying them) have clamored for their return.
Some people even started petitions begging the chain to put the nuggets back on menus: “Taco Bell needs to bring their crispy chicken nuggets back; they were the only thing getting me through my grueling and back-breaking days of work,” wrote one petition started. “Please Taco Bell, save us.”
Fear not, nugget lovers: Taco Bell will.
At its second annual Live Mas Live event, the brand announced its intentions to bring back Crispy Chicken Nuggets in 2025. And now we know when the nuggets will make their highly anticipated return: Thursday, April 24.
Taco Bell is making crispy chicken a permanent part of the menu by 2026 – no more clamoring needed.
“We’re a taco place doing chicken our own way and like all our best moments, it’s a little unexpected – because we’ve never been about following the rules,” Taco Bell Chief Marketing Officer Taylor Montgomery says in a press release. “The demand for our nuggets was off the charts, which is why we’re looking at making crispy chicken permanent to give our fans what they are telling us they want. We know we’re not the usual name in crispy chicken, but our nuggets speak for themselves — they’re bold, different, and unmistakably Taco Bell.”
The Crispy Chicken Nuggets will be available a la carte as a five-piece nugget and one dipping sauce option for $3.99, or 10-piece nugget and two dipping sauces order for $6.99. You can also get the nuggets in a “Combo” that includes an order of regular Nacho Fries, nacho cheese sauce and a large fountain drink. A five-piece nugget and one dipping sauce combo is priced at $5.99, and a 10-piece nugget and two dipping sauces combo is $8.99.
As for the sauces, the brand is bringing back its Hidden Valley Fire Ranch Sauce, which was the most popular sauce for Crispy Chicken Nugget orders during the first run. It will also bring back its “tangy” Bell Sauce and “bold” Jalapeño Honey Mustard, also available the first time around, as dipping and dunking options.
Through April 30, the brand is offering the option to recycle used, empty sauce packets and dipping cups with Terracycle — and to earn Taco Bell Rewards points for doing so. “Thanks to Taco Bell’s Sauce Container US Recycling Program partnership with TerraCycle, hundreds of thousands of used sauce packets and single-use sauce containers have been collected,” the brand boasts.
Taco ’bout a good idea.
