WNBA hoopster Angel Reese has racked up a lot of accomplishments both on and off the court. Now she’s notching another mark of distinction: McDonald’s has announced that the basketball and fashion star will be the first female athlete (ever!) to get a special meal named after her by the chain.
A long-overdue celebration of female sports prowess, the Angel Reese Special, consisting of a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese with a new Bold BBQ Sauce, medium fries and a medium drink, will land at the Golden Arches — at participating restaurants, while supplies last — on February 10.
“Influenced by Angel’s boldly original style and swag, the Angel Reese Special is a saucy trifecta that blends sweet, savory and a touch of spice,” McDonald’s says in a press release. “The smoky Bold BBQ Sauce is a gamechanger that takes the QPC to the next level, adding a fresh twist on its classic ingredients.”

Reese, for her part, calls being tapped to be the first female athlete to have her own McDonald’s meal “a dream come true.”
“I hope the Angel Reese Special inspires young athletes everywhere to never give up on pursuing their dreams,” she adds in a statement.
At the very least, Reese’s fast-food collab seems to have inspired an influx of congratulations from her friends on social media.
“Big things come to those who put in the work!!! So proud of you,” wrote former WNBA player Lisa Leslie in response to an announcement about the collaboration on Instagram.
“BBQ & BACON! I’m ready,” chimed in Atlanta Dream star Brittney Griner.
“Can’t WAIT!” exclaimed New York Liberty power forward Breanna Stewart.
Reese’s team, the Chicago Sky, also offered its support and a twist on its star player’s nickname, Bayou Barbie, exclaiming, “McBarbie!!!!”
