McDonald’s Snack Wrap fans, and you are legion and vocal, big news: The menu item you’ve been clamoring for is coming back. Yes, it’s official.

“The Snack Wrap will be back in 2025,” McDonald’s USA President Joe Erlinger announced during a December 5 appearance on Good Morning America, noting that the menu item had a “cult following,” with fans flooding his inbox with requests to bring it back.

Erlinger declined to give a specific date for the Snack Wrap’s return in 2025 for what he said were “competitive reasons.”

The brand doubled down on the announcement and the caginess about the date on social media. “snack wraps xx.xx.2025,” it posted the same day on its official Instagram account.

“Thank you,” responded @bring_back_the_wrap, an Instagram account with more than a thousand followers that says it is “dedicated solely to advocating for the return of the McDonald’s Snack Wrap.”

“Victory is ours,” responded another Snack Wrap lover.

“SCREAMING, CRYING, IVE BEEN WAITING [FOR] THIS,” wrote another.

The McDonald’s Snack Wrap — chicken breast, lettuce, cheese and sauce, encased in a soft flour tortilla — made its U.S. debut in 2006. Following the introduction, over the years, of several different iterations riffing on the original concept, the Snack Wrap was officially discontinued in 2016, although some locations continued to offer it. In 2020, however, it was removed from menus nationwide as part of a pandemic-era menu simplification.

But the menu item’s fans never gave up the fight for its return. One petition to “Bring back McDonald’s SNACK WRAPS!” shared on change.org has collected nearly 19,000 verified signatures and comments from supporters like this one: “Life hasn't been the same without McDonald’s snack wraps.” And this one: “It's the only thing on the McDonald’s [menu] that brings me pure joy!”

“McDonald’s Snack Wraps are easily the best thing on their menu (maybe next to their fries, but that’s a whole different debate) ... SO WHY NOT BRING THEM BACK?” the petitioner writes, before sharing three arguments in favor of the menu item’s return: “1) It’s the only food on McDonald’s menu that isn’t hot … 2) It’s healthy … 3) Ease of consumption.”

“This is not a drill,” wrote the Instagram account @snackolator in a post celebrating news of the Snack Wrap’s return.

Congratulations, Snack Wrap fans. May 2025 bring you all you hope and dream.
