Even as eggs start to feel like a luxury object in and of themselves, Louis Vuitton is taking the extravagant-egg concept to a whole new level. As part of the its 2025 Easter Collection, the high-end fashion brand and pastry chef Maxime Frederic are offering an edible chocolate version of the iconic egg-shaped purse — the Egg Bag. Nicolas Ghesquière, the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s women’s collections, designed the limited-edition leather bag for the French fashion house’s 2019 Spring-Summer show.

The “Chocolate Egg Bag” from Le Chocolat Maxime Frédéric at Louis Vuitton unites “craftsmanship and chocolate artistry,” according to the brand. It features an outer shell with a Louis Vuitton embossed design made of 70-percent dark chocolate, an intricately stitched leather handle, zipper and zipper pulls rendered in 40-percent milk chocolate. The chocolate couture creation weighs 970 grams and includes a “decadent” filling made of 40-percent milk chocolate and hazelnut gianduja.

“This masterpiece is the result of a collaboration between the arts of leatherworking and chocolate-making,” the brand says.

Priced at 225 € (or about $249), the bag is available in select cities including Paris, New York, Singapore, and Shanghai as well as online.

The Louis Vuitton Easter Collection also includes more traditional chocolate Easter eggs, sold in a boxed set of three, featuring two with dark chocolate shells and one with a milk chocolate outer layer.

The milk chocolate egg features a “creamy heart of Tahitian vanilla caramel and hazelnut praline.” One of the dark chocolate eggs is filled with a “raspberry caramel lined with a pistachio praline” and the other with a “creamy blue vanilla caramel and crispy buckwheat gianduja.”

The eggs are also sold in boxed sets of six. Fashion never looked so delicious and decadent.
